Why a new service for Chairs?

Our long experience of third sector Governance has convinced us that the support and development needs of Chairs have been neglected. While the paid executives of not-for-profits are better resourced than ever and trustees in general have access to a growing range of information and training, Chairs remain relatively poorly served.

Sector bodies have highlighted the need for formal induction to help all new Chairs get to grips with their unique and crucial role, and a few initiatives have been taken. Charity Trustee Networks, for example, has fostered local networking and peer support.

We at LL&A are responding with a service that puts Chairs and their challenges first, while helping them to engage productively with their fellow trustees, CEOs and managers.
